M-CSF (Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor), Human Recombinant, E.coli
Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (M-CSF), also known as hematopoietic growth factor, In its biologically active form, M-CSF is a homo dimer produced by somatic cells, such as endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and mononuclear phagocytes. M-CSF is the primary cytokine that synergizes with other factors to regulate the survival, proliferation of monocytes and macrophages, differentiation of monocytes into macrophages, and migration of cells of the myeloid lineage. M-CSF induces vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) production from skeletal muscles. Research show M-CSF increases VEGF production from cardiomyocytes, protects cardiomyocytes and myotubes from cell death, and improves cardiac function after ischemic injury.
Full Name | Macrophage-Colony Stimulating Factor Human Recombinant |
Synonyms | Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor, CSF-1, Lanimostim, MCSF, MGC31930, M-CSF. |
Source | E. coli |
Amino Acid Sequence | The sequence of the N-terminal amino acids of MCSF was determined to be Met-Glu-Glu-Val-Ser. |
Molecular Weight | Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor Human Recombinant was produced in E. coli as a disulfide linked homodimer, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2 x 159 amino acids and shown to exhibit a total molecular mass of 30 kDa by SDS-PAGE under non-reducing conditions. |
Purity | >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC |
Endotoxin | Endotoxin level was found to be ≤ 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg) by a LAL gel clot method. |
Formulation | Lyophilized from a Tris-Hcl solution pH8.5, filtered with a membrane (0.2 µm). |
Reconstitution | To reconstitute the protein, add sterile water to the lyophilized protein and make a preparation with a concentration ≥0.1mg/ml. The preparation can be diluted into other appropriate buffers if necessary. Cautions should be taken to avoid bacterial growth, resulting in potential contamination with endotoxin. |
Stability | Once lyophilized, the protein is stable at room temperature (≈3 weeks) and at -20°C (≥ 2 years from the date of receipt).Upon reconstitution, it can be stored at 4°C (≤ 7 days) or at -20°C (≤ 6 months). For long term storage, please store at -80°C and the addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended.Avoid frequent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Biological Activity | The ED50 was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine M-NFS-60 indicator cells to be < 2.0ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 500,00Units/mg. |
Usage | FOR LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. Not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. |
